Did They Really Make Their Picks? Print E-mail

Pickem pools can be like golf.   Sometimes people want a mulligan when they make a mistake especially for weeks with early games.  They will say things like, "I made my picks, but they must not have saved or something."     This *can* happen, but most of the time, it doesn't.   If you click Save, the picks are usually saved.      As a group manager, you can contact us to verify if said click was made.   We keep an activity log that helps us quickly determine when some action was taken.   Here's a snip from what we can see from the admin side:

The Activity Log

Some tips for your group members:  When they click Save, they should be taken to the Group Listing page.   On that page they should see the number of picks change from 0 to whatever number they made.   (in a 16 game week, that would be 16)    It's pretty simple to visually confirm this, as well as being able to see what everyone else has done.     For those who are really picky/nervous then go back into Make Picks and make sure they're there.

The most common reason picks don't get saved:

1.  A person waits too long.   If you start to make your picks, then go eat lunch, League will timeout.  When you click save, it will not because your connection is gone.   If you plan to have lunch while you're picking, hit Apply before you leave.

2.  They don't click Save or Apply.   Save and Apply are almost the same.   Save means you're all done.  Apply means you're still thinking about it.    If you take more than 10 minutes to make your picks, then hit Apply every so often to be safe.   You use Save when you're all done making picks.    What some people do... they make their picks, assign points, then logout.   You must click Save or Apply or they will not be saved.    And ... there is no warning.

If you care about others in your group, you can see if they made their picks (not necesarily which teams or points) but the Your Group Members will tell you if someone has made zero picks for the current week.   If you see this, and it's a few hours before kickoff, you can use the Make Your Picks option to send them an email.

Bottom line:  If you missed making your picks, contact your group manager.   Only he/she can request help with mulligans.

How do I change my password? Print E-mail
Your ID and password is not stored with your League profile. If you need to change your password, look for the User Menu in the lower left corner after you login.

What if you need to change your password but you don't remember it? You can use the Lost Password feature, however you'll need to know both your ID and the email account you used when you registered. If you don't recall both of those, then you can't change your password!

Can I make picks for someone else? Print E-mail

What happens when there's an early game (like in week 1) but the person is out of town or just doesn't remember?    Not making your picks for one week can pretty much destroy you in the standings.

We don't have a solution for this right now, but we're open to suggestions.    Maybe give the manager a button that would randomly make selections for them?

Right now, the only option is to contact the person and have them give you access to their ID/password so you or someone can go in and make the picks for them.

There currently is no feature that would allow a manager to enter picks after the games have been played.

If you have some ideas, please share them.

More than one person with the same email address Print E-mail

Can you create two accounts with the same email address?

Sure, why not!

We've changed this so email addresses are no longer unique.  If you want to create two login IDs with the same email address, it's ok now.

We don't publish others' addresses here, so we currently don't see a problem with this.  However, if something should come up, we may reverse this later.

Do you filter for bad words or spamming in the message area? Print E-mail

It is possible that a member is really there to promote the sale of viagra or xanax, of course in addition to making picks.

If you find someone making posts to sell something that is not acceptable to your group, simply boot them, then report them to us.

We have intentionally not installed a bad word filter and spammers will show up in public groups.  Best way to protect yourself is to strictly control who is in your group.  There should be no way a spammer will appear in your private group unless your group code has been published somewhere.
