Where Did My Picks Go? Print E-mail
Where you can view all the picksAn important part of making your picks:  you need to hit Save (or Apply) from within the Pick Screen.   If you don't do this OR if you go have lunch and come back to save them, they MAY not be saved.    Rule of thumb:   After you hit Save you will see all of your group members along with number of picks you made.    If you don't see the correct number there for yourself, then your picks were not recorded.  Also, after the 1st game starts, you can go to Group Standings and view the picks for your group.    This is also where you can find the Print Pick Sheet option that's handy, both to documnt your picks and to keep track while you're watching the games.    When picks are saved, activity is recorded in a log file.   If you think you made them, and if there is a corresponding "Picks saved" for your ID, we will investigate and resolve.   If however we do not see said activity, then the leader of the group needs to contact us to remedy the missing picks.   (FYI:  Current timeout here is 2 hours.   That means a you have 120 minutes to click Save or Apply after you enter the pick screen)

Getting Babes Off My Name Print E-mail

Could you take the link off to the babes page on my name – some of the women here who may join may not appreciate it as much as the rest of us.

Edit Your ProfileYou have the option of creating a link to whatever you want that is clickable from the Your Group Members page.  If someone else created your account for you, it's possible they pointed that at Google, or in this case, something that might not be ideal for office use.  To fix this, just go to the Control Panel and click the Edit Your Profile icon.    There you will be able to put whatever link you want in for your name -- or nothing at all.   (if you want nothing linked to your name, then save a blank field there)

Just to be "equal" here are some beach dudes that could easily keep men from joining!

Did They Really Make Their Picks? Print E-mail

Pickem pools can be like golf.   Sometimes people want a mulligan when they make a mistake especially for weeks with early games.  They will say things like, "I made my picks, but they must not have saved or something."     This *can* happen, but most of the time, it doesn't.   If you click Save, the picks are usually saved.      As a group manager, you can contact us to verify if said click was made.   We keep an activity log that helps us quickly determine when some action was taken.   Here's a snip from what we can see from the admin side:

The Activity Log

Some tips for your group members:  When they click Save, they should be taken to the Group Listing page.   On that page they should see the number of picks change from 0 to whatever number they made.   (in a 16 game week, that would be 16)    It's pretty simple to visually confirm this, as well as being able to see what everyone else has done.     For those who are really picky/nervous then go back into Make Picks and make sure they're there.

The most common reason picks don't get saved:

1.  A person waits too long.   If you start to make your picks, then go eat lunch, League will timeout.  When you click save, it will not because your connection is gone.   If you plan to have lunch while you're picking, hit Apply before you leave.

2.  They don't click Save or Apply.   Save and Apply are almost the same.   Save means you're all done.  Apply means you're still thinking about it.    If you take more than 10 minutes to make your picks, then hit Apply every so often to be safe.   You use Save when you're all done making picks.    What some people do... they make their picks, assign points, then logout.   You must click Save or Apply or they will not be saved.    And ... there is no warning.

If you care about others in your group, you can see if they made their picks (not necesarily which teams or points) but the Your Group Members will tell you if someone has made zero picks for the current week.   If you see this, and it's a few hours before kickoff, you can use the Make Your Picks option to send them an email.

Bottom line:  If you missed making your picks, contact your group manager.   Only he/she can request help with mulligans.

Make Sure You Are Attached To A Group! Print E-mail

Means you are not attached to a groupSome have said they can't see their group members.   The most common reason for this:  You are not connected to a group.

Each year we begin with preseason and people are invitied to build groups during that time.    By default, group members are then "connected" to that preseason group.   When the real season starts, the new games are inserted and the preseason games are removed.    What results:  When you login, you will no longer be connected to your group.     (Look for the Join or Create a Group! message)

The other way this can happen (not being attached to a group) is when a group manager removes you from their group.   Group managers have red Xs next to each person in their group.  If they don't want you in, that red X will remove you.   (It removes you from the group, but does not delete any of your data)

The most common reason this happens:  You just registered and didn't complete the process.   You must register, then join a group.  (95% of the groups here are private, so you must also know the group code)

Anyway, to fix this is pretty simple:

This is where you select a group!Within the control panel click the Select Groups icon.     Join your grouip by entering the group code and you'll be back in.   (Remember, you can join more than one group.   To move from one to the other, you would use the same Select Groups icon)

What If You Do Miss Making Your Picks? Print E-mail
This is kind of the benefit of being here.   League.com is run by a small group of people that are actively involved in the development.  As a result, you can send us an email and we'll generally write back, sometimes even offering a solution to your problem.   In this case, if you should miss your picks for a week, we know how that feels.   It's happened to us.   That's why we
created the CT Pick Wiz for Losers feature which can be invoked only by one of us here.    How it works:

You send YOUR GROUP MANAGER a note that explains your sad story about how the dog ate your keyboard and there was no possible way you could get anyone else to make your picks because the dog ate all your phones too.    We then activate Continuum Transfunctioner Pick Wiz and your picks are magically created.    Only condition:  Your group manager must request this to us.  If they want to ding you for having an out-of-control dog, that's their call.

Bottom line, we want you to be happy here and tell others about League.com.   If that means helping you when your dog acts up, that's cool by us.
