Football Pickem Pool

This application was designed and produced in Ann Arbor, Michigan with much help from the NFL guy who now lives down in North Carolina. All of the software development was provided by our friends/business partners located in Targu Mures, Romania.

What is League?

League is an online system that is free, simple to use and requires no great football skills to play.  After you join a group, all you do is login each week, make your picks and then wait for the games to finish.   (Scores are  automatically entered as they finish -- so your group standings are calculated for you)   

More About Us and League 

We are a group of friends /co-workers located in various corners of the world that wanted to build something clever to help run football pools.   Last year we created version 1 and figured something tied to NFL was the way to go.   But the season was only 17 weeks long -- and what kind of site would it be if it had appeal only 33% of the year?

Our first version was a learning experience.   We realized there was a niche for office pool management, but our application was built on a proprietary system and we realized that put us in competition with Yahoo, not a well thought-out business model if the goal was to build a following.  

So we realized that League...

• could not just be about the 17 week NFL season
• needed to support other sports/seasons
• had to get the attention of users by doing something clever or unique

So here we are, season #3 and the product looks about the same.   But it's not.   It's been completely rebuilt to handle more than NFL and runs on top of a content management system that has become one of the leading open source products in the world.   (well, at least in our world)

Our goal in 2007 is to get League out into the business world. This is year #3 and while we will continue to develop it, now it's time for some marketing. We believe we have created something that fits a specific niche and now it's time to see if we're right.
